Gloria Elias-Foeillet is a California native of Mexican-Assyrian descent. As a child, she had a strong influence in the beautification industry as the daughter of a talented cosmetologist and a sister of a hairstylist. Foeillet originally studied photography at Otis College of Art and Design but realized her true passion was the artistry of makeup.
Her career began with some of the most iconic music videos of all time including Missy Elliott “Work It” (which won MTV’s best music video in 2003), LL Cool J “Ain’t Nobody”, A Tribe Called Quest “Stressed Out”, The Roots “Next Movement”, Destiny’s Child “With Me”, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony “Crossroads”.
After twenty years of success, Foeillet has had the incredible opportunity to work with some of the top companies and magazines in the world. She has worked with Missy Elliot for over fifteen years including the 2015 Super Bowl half-time show. Elias-Foeillet is now one of the most sought-out makeup professionals in Los Angeles and New York. She continues to transform faces into works of art.
“Makeup to me has always been like painting . . . if you understand color and form you can paint anything. It’s a marriage of experience and intuition and a wonderful way to express yourself. It’s been such a pleasure to make my clients feel special and beautiful.”
